I am proud to represent Michigan's Second Congressional District. I currently serve on the House Appropriations Committee and as Chairman of the House Select Committee on China. In Congress, I have led the fight to stop the Chinese Communist Party from buying American farmland and to protect Michigan jobs. I have worked to secure the border, cut taxes for working families, and reined in wasteful spending in Washington.

I graduated with a Chemistry Degree from Hope College, later earning a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University. During my career I have been a chemist, school administrator, business developer, and served on the local, state, and federal levels. This extensive experience allows me to look at policies with a practical lens, not just a political one.

I have lived in Michigan my entire life, raising six kids, and now have four grandchildren. My wife, Amy, and I are proud to call West Michigan home.
